Update my Will Wokingham
Making a Will is all about protecting your loved ones.
Although death is something that none of us want to think about, preparing an effective legal framework for your affairs brings peace of mind, a sense of control, and the comfort of knowing that you have made provision for your family and friends after your death.
When preparing a Will, we will take the time to sit down with you and understand your family circumstances and who you wish to benefit after your death. We will help you to consider anyone who may have a claim against your estate after death, and we will advise on how to reduce the likelihood of a successful claim. We will discuss your assets and liabilities to ensure that these will pass under the Will in the manner you wish. We will also provide full advice on inheritance tax, options for protecting vulnerable beneficiaries, trusts within Wills (the administration of trusts and the taxation regimes) and protecting an estate against care costs. This all comes as standard, and our Wills come with a detailed letter of advice in plain English, explaining the terms of the Will clearly so you can refer to this moving forwards.
We work on a fixed fee basis.
We will discuss and agree costs with you at the outset and these fees will remain the same, regardless of how much time is spent on your matter. We do not charge on an hourly rate basis. Clients are in full control of their costs from the outset of the matter. Our Wills start from £400 plus VAT for an individual Will and £500 plus VAT for Wills for a couple, and are priced depending on what is required to put in place a Will that achieves your objectives. Our charges reflect the complexity, time, risk, and qualification.
Our Wills comply with the STEP Will Code of Practice, which can be found here.
